...or... "All animals are circles, too"
I did not want to sketch today. I was so sore, my pain levels were at a 7 minimum today, and I had to take extra meds. :( Sleep, stretches, heat gave me little relief. But once I got into my sketching, my mind was kept occupied and time flew. I told myself I only needed to do 20 minutes, I think I did an hour. :) Afterwards I was a lot happier than I had been earlier in the day. Now that I'm done, I am definitely more aware of how sore and stiff I am, but I certainly don't feel as crappy as I did earlier today. Plus I feel like I actually accomplished something. This is working!

The idea of these sketches is to do just shapes - looking for circles, ovals, and curves and finish each in under five minutes.
It was fun! I wouldn't expect it to be so easy - although for some, especially the cougars, it was hard to find circles in their faces (they seemed so angular) but after I drew them they actually helped make the whole picture a lot more realistic.
After I did the 5 min sketch, I used ink to go over my outline and add some details.

The next step is to use real models - what a good excuse to go to the forestry farm!

I like the last one. Beautiful!
Oh,opps... I meant the second last one... :)
This looks like a really neat "process" to go through using this book. The drawings are evolving more and more each day. Also great to see that even when your pain levels were high, you still were able focus and create beautiful art. I'm thoroughly impressed!
Thanks, I am impressed, too. I never would have thought I could do something so nice on such a bad day. :)
