Jeff and I went to the zoo today, and thankfully not all of the animals were hiding in the shade. The book says, "difficult though it is, this activity sharpens the drawing skills like few others."

It was hard. Most of my pages of drawings are just squiggles and circles, so there is nothing really to show.
This herd in the enclosure was great to draw. I drew the male with the horns, and only after I had done the two females (to the left) did I even notice the little fawn in front of him, because he was hiding in the tall grass.
I really enjoyed this activity. I think it would be really worthwhile to do this regularly, so I should get myself a season pass and go back. Next time I'll bring my lawn chair and sit in the air conditioned monkey house :) although I know they won't be nearly as cooperative as the Grizzly bear...

...and I would like to thank the long eared owl, who did not move a muscle...

Honourable mention also to the male great horned sheep, who did a fantastic job posing as well.
