I can't believe I've been here almost 3 months!
Here's what I've learned:
~ No matter where you go, your problems go with you. Out of sight does not mean out of mind.
~ The greatest thing of all truly is love. I have never felt so much love as I have received from Tara, Nick & their two boys. They are my family.
~ The simplest things can make you incredibly happy... coffee on a sunny patio with friends, birds singing, the peace of twilight. (of course this is all easier if the coffee is Tim Horton's, it's a hot sunny day in January, the birds are kookaburras, and the sun is setting over the ocean)
~ Be brave. Try something out of your comfort zone. For a moment just turn that rational brain off & say yes to something wild & crazy that only happens in the movies. The payoff is amazing.
~ Give God room & He will bless you more than you thought possible.
In 3 months I've only needed 2 months of pain meds. I sleep better. I wake up easier. Rarely do I have full body pain. My bad days are less frequent & I recover faster.
I am healthier.
I am stronger.
(I am also fatter, blame that on Australian Cherry Ripes.)
I am nervous about how my body is going to handle the winter weather, especially after such a long flight home (32 traveling hours) but I'm looking forward to what may be my last March in Canada.
