Don't these just make your heart sing?

The pain management book that my doctor wrote that I'm currently reading Rewire your pain
talks about how when we are in pain, we usually give up the fun things in our day first and keep the activities that are our responsibilities chores and as a result less enjoyable activities.  The author's point is that it is these fun activities that bring us joy, positive feelings,  positive emotions, invite us to use positive words and a sense of happiness and lightheartedness ... all of which lead to less suffering, even if the amount of pain remains the same.

I know this cutting out my hobbies is definitely true for me. I do everything in can to make sure my responsibilities get done, so if I need an extra nap I cut out my art time instead of cutting out doing the dishes.

Today I left the dishes & did the art. 😊

And as a result I'm smiling at the new pages in my art journal. Today my pain did not decrease, but dealing with the pain was much easier. I feel like I have more control, too.

My heart is smiling!
