Today's art journal turned into an amazing journey.
I started by deciding to follow Violette Clark's
(Violette.ca) spreecast that is part of my 21 Secrets Workshop. The
title of her section is called Doodle People & she starts by
doodling a few faces. I'm not good at drawing pictures from scratch, so I
started looking for a face I could use .... And came across two very
meaningful photos.
The first one is a copy of a copy of a framed copy of
my mother's mother and father on their wedding day, taken at the
soldier's hospital during WWII where my British grandmother met my
Canadian Grandpoppa when he was recovering from losing his leg in a bomb
blast. She looks so young, tall, confident, and beautiful in her two
piece dress suit and hat. It's a fuzzy dark photo so I couldn't copy it
well, but I did the best I could.
The other one is a picture of me, my mother and my father's mother all dressed up in old-fashioned hats at the town's one hundredth birthday.
Very quickly after I started sketching, I realized that the direction this journal entry was going was not the same as the "doodle people". So, I followed my heart instead. And I am sooo happy with the result!
