Lesson 24: Skeleton and Posture

Much harder than you would think!

Back to the idea that everything is a circle. This is something that I think is very valuable. If I properly learn the proportions of the human body, and the natural posture (we do not stand bolt upright) then I would be able to draw figures without needing a model.

I'm nowhere near that yet, but even trying to do these simple "stick figures" without the book was a challenge. Fortunately, pain wise, I was able to concentrate and I really enjoyed this.

Figure on the bottom right is a girl in heels, showing how the line of her body is not a vertical line, but a series of lines at different angles. The same is visible in the second "stick" figure, (top) where you can see again that the actual skeleton does not follow the vertical line drawn (from the centre of the head) except at the hip joint. Otherwise, most of the body is behind the centre line. Very interesting stuff!

But I definitely need more practice.
