Ive been told over and over again that Motion is the potion, motion is the lotion that will keep my fibromyalgia & nerve pain under control. It's hard to even do my simple physio stretches on the days that the pain is bad. Some days even my hands hurt and I can't roll over.
But I found a great gentle yoga program that is intended to help make yoga part of your daily routine. The author of the magazine article says it's more beneficial to do 5 min of yoga every day than an hour of vigorous yoga once a week.
Well, I'm all for that!!
I used to love yoga. But I got discouraged when I couldn't keep up with even the gentle joint class.
Now I think I'm at a point where I will actually follow the instructions to modify, to listen to my body, and to not feel guilty about going into child's pose when everyone else is doing some crazy warrior two inverse triangle pose.
I am encouraged. The promises of more energy, more focus, better sleep ... Yay! (And let's
not forget the idea of getting back some of my former figure, and former self esteem)
And best part, for where I'm at right now in my life: they have the whole 21 day program
already set up, with a video to follow, an encouraging email every day, and permission to
modify as often as my heart desires.
So, tomorrow is Day 1.
Can't wait!
