Tons of carvings and wildlife photography. Very little "flatwork", or 2D work, like paintings.
Still, an incredibly impressive amount of talent.
All of the work in the novice category was far superior to my level - I would have placed them in advanced or professional for sure.
I was quite disappointed with the lack of comments from the judges on my piece. But I chose to believe that all experiences are a positive experience!
And my little hidden butterfly sold in the silent auction, so I know there is at least one person out there with fantastic taste in art.

Just remember WHY you paint. And don't worry, as difficult as it is, about what others think.

Years ago, I had some of my art put into two art shows. I found that the drawings I thought were best were not chosen by the judges, and the one that I didn't really like won honourable mention! Art is definitely "in the eye of the beholder", and artists are always their own worst critics! Keep up the painting!
